We wanted to create a place where we ourselves would feel comfortable leaving our own dogs.
That is the origin of Sunny Dog Service.
Each dog has its own personality and feelings, and we take the time to understand them with care.
We value gentle, stress-free interactions that are suited to each individual dog.
In a safe and comfortable environment, we provide consistent daily care that supports emotional stability and positive behavior over time.
We aim to be a trusted presence for dog owners, offering peace of mind when they leave their pets with us.
At the same time, we strive to create a place that dogs look forward to coming back to. With both of these in mind, we provide our daily services with care and dedication.
Dog Boarding
We aim to provide care that feels like a second home for every dog. In addition to walks and meal care, we focus on building communication through play, exercise, and positive interaction, helping dogs feel as happy and comfortable as possible while they are away from their families. During their stay in our home, we try to create a relaxed environment that closely matches their usual daily routine. We also respect each dog’s individual lifestyle, including the number of walks, feeding schedule, favorite foods and toys, and sleeping arrangements, so that their care is fully tailored to their needs.

* A Meet & Greet interview and compatibility check are required prior to any booking.
＊ Unneutered male dogs cannot be accepted (except puppies).
* Dogs that bite, or show strong aggression or severe threatening behavior toward other dogs or people cannot be accepted.
* Dogs that display destructive behavior toward objects cannot be accepted.
* Dogs with extreme stress or severe separation anxiety cannot be accepted.
* For dogs who do not meet the above requirements, we recommend private training sessions. This allows us to provide individualized support tailored to each dog’s needs and help them safely progress to the next stage.
Day Care
As in a typical homestay, dogs will relax and spend time playing and going on walks together with our own dog. Indoors, they are generally cared for in a cage-free environment. Check-in is available from 7:00 AM, and check-out is until 7:00 PM. We can accommodate up to 12 hours of care. Early check-in and late check-out are available for an additional fee.

Dog Walking
When you are busy with work, coming home late, traveling and unable to care for your dog, or unable to walk your dog due to an unexpected injury, we will take your dog for a walk on your behalf.
We provide dedicated 30-minute (or longer) walks based on your preferred date, time, and route.
* An additional travel fee will apply for areas outside the Hawaii Kai area.

Pet Sitting
This is a service where we visit your home to provide care (minimum 30-minute visits).
For dogs, cats, and rabbits that may feel stressed in a changing environment, we recommend our pet sitting service.
On your behalf, we provide feeding and fresh water, dog walking (dogs only), litter/toilet cleaning, and basic health monitoring through gentle interaction and care.
* An additional travel fee will apply for areas outside the Hawaii Kai area.

Dog Training
Most behavioral issues in dogs are often the result of humans not fully understanding their needs and communication. When a dog is barking excessively, fearful, or showing signs of aggression, these behaviors are actually SOS signals. The behavior itself is not “bad” — it is a sign that the dog is experiencing emotional stress and inner instability. Our role as leaders is to help dogs regain emotional balance and guide them in a positive direction. We do not simply correct unwanted behaviors; we also coach owners to better understand their dogs and become calm, confident, and effective leaders for them.

It is a program designed to support each dog’s physical and emotional balance through their daily routine, while gently developing social skills and calm, stable behavior. Beyond walks and play, we focus on creating consistent, reassuring daily experiences that help dogs build confidence in their everyday life. By incorporating a dog behavior perspective, we tailor our approach to each dog’s individual personality and pace. In a stress-free environment, dogs naturally develop positive habits and balanced behavior over time. This is not “just fun” or “just training,” but a place where both are thoughtfully combined — a safe and supportive environment for learning, growth, and stability.
